Email Teaser: Shop Dollar Tree, a chain of American discount stores where every item sold is offered for either $1.00 or less, thus making it a true dollar store.

Side Bar

• Mission Statement
• Hours of Operation
• Find Your Local Store
• Christmas Deals
• New arrivals
• Contact Dollar Tree

Discover The Dollar Tree Difference

Looking for a great bargain? Well, head on over to Dollar Tree, and you will not only find great deals and friendly people, but you will experience an environment where shopping is fun.

For many, it’s a struggle to survive during these tough economics time, let alone shop. As luck would have it, I have never been one to possess exemplary management skills involving currency. I must admit there have been many situations where I have failed with budgeting and overspending; I have simply purchased overpriced products that I cannot afford and frequently have not enjoyed the purchase afterwards due to guilt and a sense of regret. As an upper-classmen in college, you quickly learn that concerns of this nature should be mediated and distorted. Nonetheless, I remain a shopaholic
What do you do when you cannot stop the spending but your funds are limited? You search for easy-wins and affordable goods.

After discussing a much-needed list of necessities amongst my roommates, a trip to the local Dollar Tree was a much-required mission. Only one of the three, myself not included only having been to the store a few times before, a sense of un-expectancy sifted through our minds; partly because we have heard and even visited low-budgeting stores beforehand such as the local Family Dollar and Dollar General or even the 99 Cent Store, and generally exiting with the overall consensus that we would have been better off going to Wal-mart since hardly anything was priced at a dollar.
Ten-minutes of penetrating the store aisle lead us to a newfound intuition and proved otherwise what we had known to be accurate in local budgeting stores all this time. Everything and I do mean everything was priced at a dollar! Frozenly, my eyes beamed on each price sticker they came across and my mouth opened in awe as to reassure the feeling I had encountered upon first glance of each product; I was in dollar heaven! Amazingly enough, following a 45-minute shopping frenzy and a $23.12 checkout of what seemed to be a million items, I exchanged a brief conversation with pleasant Dollar Tree’s cashier Jessica Sanchez.

CF: Working here, what are the typical expressions from customers that you usually see?

JS: – Usually people respond the same way you guys did. They come in and are very surprise to see what we have to offer and that it’s all priced at dollar values. I would be lying if I told you that I haven’t seen people spend over 30 minutes at a time just observing the miscellaneous options; the looks on their faces are priceless.

CF: Do you have set customer base?

JS: – Yes. Much of our customers that I have seen, though I’ve only been here a short period are reoccurring. This is expected because of the great dollar deals that we have and the necessary items that are priced so well. I wouldn’t be surprised to see you guys here again also.

CF: What is it that keeps these customers coming back?

JS: – Besides the great deals that you guys have seen. The store offers a variety of items that are a necessity to everyone. You can get great deals on items like soap, detergent and Clorox, which everyone needs, for affordable prices compared to that of a Wal-mart and with great quality. That and the family feel people get when they come in is a factor to why people continue to come back.

The People Behind The Dollar

After doing a tad bit of research, I found that this customer-oriented store dates back to more than 50 years. To appreciate how it all came to pass, you will need to rewind back more than
a half century to K. R. Perry, a man who understood that the American shopper was looking for a bargain. You will find that the company was changed to Dollar Tree after ironically opening the first five stores at the value of a $1.00.

The great people of Dollar Tree have worked hard to create this element, where you, the costumer, can discover new treasures every week. This is a store where entire families can enjoy hunting for that special something. Every Dollar Tree store is bright and well lit, clean and well organized, and stocked with endless hidden treasures.
What is best for the customers and what is best for the company and associates are guiding principles in every business decision that Dollar Tree makes. From the customer to the coworker, Dollar Tree associates treat everyone with whom they interact with the dignity and respect that they deserve. The Dollar Tree store prides itself on its attitude and integrity, which has played a major role in its success through the years.

The True Experience

Giving you and your closest relatives as well as friends something to truly remember in value and saying your dollar is a dollar well spent!!!

Take it from me, if you want to spend your money wisely and ensure that you are being rewarded with a great product in the return, shop at your local Dollar Tree. The mission in which Dollar Tree takes great pride in is being upheld through its employees as I witnessed firsthand with great service and a smooth transaction.

My roommates and I have surely stumbled upon a gold mine, and have not looked back since. From school supplies to a great Christmas gift just to brighten someone’s holiday, there is an item in every size, shape, and form for every season at your local Dollar Tree.

According to the “Feature Richness and User engagement” article displayed on the Jakob Nielsen Page, most users have a low commitment in regards to websites with abundant features. Much like everything else when you are referring to user usability, websites should choose to focus on simplicity as to easily communicate the message and minimize the distractions.

A Problem

For many of us our “[w] illingness to learn is the most important factor in how much complexity you can allow in the user experience.” A fatter documentation takes longer to read and makes it harder for users to extract a good conceptual model of the system. If I assume other users are like myself, it is safe to conclude that we don’t want to spend time learning but rather doing without the complications of the system we are operating.

Something to think about

When new prospects visit a site for the first time, it is important that you keep them locked in. It works best by convincing the user of the site fast with scaled back features and dramatic simplicity. Users don’t want to stay on a site that they cannot operate nor comprehend, which brings me to the point that if a site is to determine how much complexity they can afford in a user interface that ultimately determines the number of features. Gain the users interest and loyalty then they will work harder to receive your message. “Some websites can build user loyalty and grow user engagement levels across subsequent site visits. Such sites can gradually introduce more advanced features for those users who become sufficiently committed to the site.” Even with this in mind, I would almost bet that a successful website who cares about higher engagement levels “should have almost no features and focus on the words.”

I subcribed to “Iron Mike: Toback Talks Tyson” in hopes to find new intersesting insights on the Mike Tyson that the worlds knows currently. What I found was a more calm and collected Tyson who actually seemed to be apologetic and regretful for pass actions. Why I did believe the podcast did a great job in shedding light on issues and situations on what the internal Tyson who is physically dominate but internally scared, I think it was a bit long. The information I received seems as if it could have been summed up in 2 to 3 minutes rather than 12 to 13. However, it was a positive that it was visual; for it would have been a real snoozer if it were only audio.
